Rather than prioritizing technology, the ECRC program focuses on executive leadership at the intersection of board governance and enterprise cybersecurity risk management. Participants learn to rethink risk leadership and advance cybersecurity excellence through content and case studies that support a mature risk culture, risk-based strategy, enterprise risk management, and performance measurement.

  • Governance: governance fundamentals, role and responsibilities of directors, role and responsibility of management, essential security-related objectives, and oversight and duty of care for cybersecurity.
  • Corporate Culture and Behavior: organizational psychology and biases, cultivating risk culture, ethics and decision management, personal and corporate accountability, and cultural influences in practice.
  • Strategy, Objective Setting, and Performance Management: strategy and objective setting fundamentals, strategic management practices, capital planning and investment control, performance management models and practices, and performance measurement for information security.
  • Operational Alignment and Execution: operational alignment, strategic execution, program management practices and models, project management practices and models, and project management cases.
  • Enterprise Risk Management (ERM): ERM fundamentals, ERM practices and models, prioritizing and integrating cybersecurity risk for ERM, informing risk prioritization and response with business impact analysis, and promises and perils of cyber insurance.
  • Practical Application: leadership case studies and limiting legal exposure through a crisis management deposition preparation exercise.

Program Overview

Multi-modal preparation for application and credentialing.

This multi-modal program provides the material, support, and structure participants need to learn the material, apply it to their organizations, and prepare for the credentialing exam.

  • Target Audience: The ECRC program is designed for in-house legal professionals who are responsible for oversight or management of enterprise cybersecurity risk.
  • Program Fee: The program fee includes participation in the in-person workshop, access to the official Learning Management System, a voucher for the proctored exam, course materials, and ongoing support from the ECRC Team.
  • Live Workshop: Participants join a live workshop at Buckhead Club Atlanta that includes 20 hours of facilitated discussion and case studies related to the program content. Participants receive a Certificate of Attendance after the workshop to support submission of continuing legal education and other professional education requirements.
  • Online Learning: Participants have access to program lectures and downloadable resources that support self-paced learning and exploration of the course content.
  • Materials: The program includes dedicated case studies, digital downloads of relevant standards, and the official textbooks for the course: The Essentials of Risk Management, Third Edition (ISBN: 1264258860), and Corporate Governance Matters, Third Edition (ISBN: 0136660029).
  • Credentialing: Participants receive a voucher to complete a 90-question proctored online exam with a 70% accuracy rate required to pass. After passing the exam, participants receive the ECRC credential and digital badge.

Registration includes the core program components.

Registration for the ECRC program includes courses, written materials, scheduled meals and receptions, and the exam. The program fee does not include travel, lodging, or personal expenses. Credit card statements will reflect payment made to CLASS-LLC, which administers the program.
